Lip Care Balm
Lip balm: The only savior for your lips
With the high craze of skincare routines and competition to achieve the perfect dewy skin, we almost, often forget to take care of the most important part of what defines our beauty…lips.
Lips are made up of extremely delicate and sensitive skin, which is why they require the same amount of care as other parts of your body. Who wouldn’t want soft and plump lips? It is not a huge task; taking care of these, just simple changes to your everyday beauty routine, can play a huge role in creating those flawless, ageless lips. No, this does not only apply to just women but men as well, soft lips = more attractive.
Here are some of the many ways you can add a lip care regime into your daily life:
A simple lip balm or Vaseline is the easiest add on to your makeup pouch. Moisturization is key, and this doesn’t only apply to skin. As harsh winters approach your lips tend to get dry and chapped, worst case scenario, they may also bleed (been there). What could be a better way to prevent this than to wear lip balm every day? Pick a simple one with no harsh ingredients such as menthol or eucalyptus, as this may irritate the skin lining. Men, don’t be embarrassed. Lip balms aren’t the same as lipsticks; you can easily buy a non-tinted lip balm at your local department store and flaunt your plump lips. Ladies, this is the fun part; lip balms come in various colors and exciting flavors, experiment! (Blackberry flavor is bomb) Have fun! All while taking care of the lips.
Recently some stores have also started selling ‘Lip masks,’ quite an interesting product. If you are a fan of using Korean face masks, you might also try considering these lip masks, they function the same as your sheet masks, by nourishing your lips to give them a full and soft look.
If you are the type who prefers natural, homemade remedies, don’t fear! There are plenty of options for that too!
Firstly, you can try making your lip scrub;this is great for removing dead skin cells and softening your lips. Make a mixture of sugar and raw honey, rub it gently on your lips and rinse off with warm water. Natural lip balm is coconut oil; you can just never have enough of this magical ingredient. Applying a tiny bit of coconut oil not only moisturizes your lips but also improves blood circulation, thus giving your lips a natural pink look, who wants lipstick now!
Indian medicine has solutions for everything, ayurvedic lip balms made of organic ingredients are available in Ayurveda stores since they’re completely natural, you don’t have to fear harsh effects of chemical treatments. However, do check all the ingredients, in rare cases some might trigger certain allergies, and this holds for all the treatments.
Prevention is better than cure
There are many simple ways to prevent drying of lips; water is the savior. Always stay hydrated; this is simply the best solution for most of our problems. AVOID licking your lips, doing so will only make the dryness worse as you technically rip your lips off natural, essential oils.
Love your lips; love yourself!
